light sprayed the summer night
from the train running down the track
about the time my fingers were tracing
the cool jeweled moonlight down her back
and that tv news personality off a week in
June looked better than when on television
it wasn't really a decision the White House
made -it was a reaction to fast passed actions
and then when divided by fractions of factions
the total sum - it split - and the poor got paid
while certain unsatisfied governors still paid for lays
the sky is blue and it's a cool hot summer's day
that's percolating outside this coffee house I sit in
ah, man, I don't want to let it get away from me now
and what's really stopping us from another "hayday" anyhow?...
