An industry

deteriorated

  from lack of war.

Bitter chieftans of business

and bought words  

clutch

                                                            onto their rusted roots,

and spit molten on the

marked X of our generation.

Their houses,

                                                           like big empty

                                                            eyes of a grand soldier

                                                             or past home coming queen.

The proclaimed cultural change

                                                             now on the air waves

                                                             may signify a revolution -

                                                             that years ago (1991)

                                                             we singularly declared

                                                             needed to start in the mind.
