suzi foo
well, hanging out on 48th & 6th
i was sitting staring at the width
of the bottom of my rubber sole
when this unknown girl smiled
& told me her name was suzi foo
so we got to talkin' & walkin' and
i reached down & grabbed her hand
side by side down on park avenue
passing by the waldorf astoria hotel
she told me a story about her little hell
& i knew i had to save her right then &
there
so i gave her fifty two dollars & rabbit's
foot
oh, little darlin', i wish you weren't as
hooked
i waited out in front of carnegie music
hall
all the other girls they all looked kinda
dull
yeah, well, i kept on waitin' & it started
to rain
she was running pretty late now and i
really
thought she would come back to me &
explain
when i get back to my home in pittsburgh
i'm really gonna miss her now all of the
same
she told me i was a poet & a beautiful boy
too
& my words were like songs on mermaid
avenue 2
ah, she even dug good music that little
suzi foo -
suzi foo, ah, suzi foo, baby, i dig you,
suzi foo -
ah, suzi foo... ah, suzi foo... ah, suzi
foo, suzi foo -
