She Said Rain

  "When it rains it pours,"

she said,

"and the dead ones are

the ones I adore."

"And when it rains it pours,"

she said,

"the dead ones are the ones

I adore."

Then she brought to me

a golden book

and said, "here is where

I found my dreams."

"They're beautiful yet

sad at times

but the colors always

seem to bleed."

"So I guess, what I'm trying to say

is...

will you please come

and stay

with me?"

"My garb,

it's kinda grey today,

and my hands,

made out of stone."

"But if you promise I

won't be alone today -

These hands will sculpt

Voltaire's

words."

"And waiting for spring

to come

is like summer up in

the trees."

"I smell it comin' on & on

like greedy man's disease."

"Politicians, they may

be bought

and sold

but they're not the one's

to blame."

"It's the sleazy man

workin' for greed

who makes it easy

to be bought

for gold."

And those hours when

you're lyin' awake

at night

and your dreams

bring my face

into sight.

When you look for the air

to breathe

and coldness

defines for you

fear.

Just remember,

"When it rains it pours,"

she said,

"The dead ones are the ones

I adore."

"And when it rains it pours,"

she said,

The dead ones are the ones

I adore."
