Last night instead of going out to dinner I played in the city for a bit and then drove to Whole Foods.
For dinner I grilled wild caught Alaskan King Salmon lightly brushed w/ a little extra virgin olive oil and used thyme and rosemary - The wild caught Alaskan King Salmon was 19.99 a pound which isn't that bad - However, for Parker Bean, I got him wild caught Sockeye Salmon at 12.99 a pound - (My wife and a had a normal 8 oz serving and we gave Parker a 6 oz serving w/ rice and sweet potato) - -- And, for our sides we had wild long grain rice and brussel sprouts.
For dessert we had a nice melody of greens w/ grape tomatoes, black berries and California red seedless grapes w/ a ginger dressing.
(The salad after dinner reminds me of one of my grandfathers as when w/ him we'd eat our salads after dinner - And, actually, Salmon from the Pacific N.W. reminds me of a set of grandparents who lived on Mercer Island just outside Seattle six months out of the year and then the other six months in Honolulu - - - and left me a two carat "rare" minors cut diamond to give to my love) -
This was a lovely evening for me - ending-up on the backporch at our antique farm table w/ Parker Bean at my feet while we listened, smelled and soaked-in the gentle, fresh spring rain - cleansing our spirits - drinking cognac w/ my favorite radio programming, Rhythm Sweet and Hot (music from the 20's, 30's and 40's), moaning in the background above the crocus, iris and daffodils -
