I was just having a very similar conversation w/ my wife and w/
out having read this book.
This point of view is on track.
And what baffles me about the democrats is that they can't let
go of Bush-Gore election, misinformation about WMD,
misinformation about going to war, money going to Haliburton,
going to war for oil ---
Well, the fact is, no matter what happened in the past, in the
"here and now" Iraq is split wide open because we broke it. And,
if we leave, it's going to be far worse for us because of these
radical fanatics.
We can't just come home and pull the covers over our eyes and
act or think like this never had happened.
Moreover, in general, as far as the war on terror goes, I am not
naive enough not to think we don't have these radical fanatics
here in the U.S. just plotting and waiting and recruiting.
We need more offensive all around the world. We need more allies
all around the world. We need more diplomacy all around the
world.
And we can't afford to be naive about radical fanatics in our
own back yard either.
Who's gonna lead us? Who's gonna protect us? Who can we trust?
Who has the clear vision for these things and others?
