Beaver Street in the Village of Sewickley, PAs dressed with flags
Black & white POW flags - and the red, white and blue - all flying true
Flowers of late spring and early summer bursting with life for me & you
And the majestic sun in the sky blue sky - radiating its magnificence
Leaves of trees and blades of grass like green currency to spend fast
People pleasantly calling, "hello," "good morning,"  "have a good day"
Oh, I wouldn't have it any other way and I rest my espresso filled head
Against the Starbucks' window while leaning back on a wooden bench
I stare across the street at the red brick, blue sky, sun and waving flag
Wow, feeling this peace, love, light, freedom is mine = Here in the USA
And whether believing in war or not it does not stop me from being glad
That I live a protected life because of soldiers, officers and intelligence
And I can be who I am without oppression and persecution because of
Lives laid down in sacrifice and one thing, at least, is to remember today
