the sidewalk was getting hot

she was running w/ her dog

in blue shorts & champion socks

the drivers were already on the job

bread, beer, lunch meat & soda pop

w/ all the trucks owned by the mob

and it was just another day in the year

but something was different, i swear,

there was nothing like it to compare

like the anniversary of the sun - yea, yea -

.. anniversary of the sun - yea, yea - yea -

.. everybody's having fun - yea, yea, yea -

she began to come over in her Land Rover

and i was having second thoughts about it

was it for me or more of her need for exposure

of course we did it all - nothing was to small -

left Arizona for a little roadhouse at Cordona Lake

and then we left big Texas for a moderate state

where most people spoke of an opinion or two

and at the center of town some people were lewd

but, at least, most people hardly ever were rude

like the anniversary of the sun - yea, yea -
