Mr. Smalls Funhouse to hold its FIFTH annual
REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR
 &
REAL.LIFE.SKATE CAMP
Monday, August 6th - Friday, August 10th, 2007
10 am to 4 pm

MUSIC:        Participants in the REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR, hosted by Mr. Smalls Recording Studios & Theatre, will benefit from the knowledge of national musicians and industry professionals as well as many of Pittsburgh’s most motivated and successful musicians including members of Rusted Root, selected staff and associated artists of  Mr. Small’s & Creative.Life.Support Records. All participants will walk away from the camp with a professionally recorded demo of their own original music, professional band photo, comprehensive bio and a wealth of printed resources to help guide them in their careers.  REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR, directed by Liz Berlin of Rusted Root is a unique opportunity which will provide young artists with invaluable knowledge, experience and resources, to help guide them towards success as working musicians in the music industry.

Below are the highlights of the REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR experience:

•    Guided rehearsals & recording sessions with accomplished, professional musicians & producers
•    Record a demo CD produced by the experienced engineers of Mr. Smalls Funhouse (2 songs for bands, 1 for solo musicians)
•    Make a comprehensive band bio complete with a professional photo shoot
•    Attend seminars & workshops with acclaimed artists & industry pros on a variety of real-life, need-to-know band issues such as: Recording Studio Preparation, Musicianship, Web Presence Development, Live Shows & Touring, Band Business & Legalities, Web Presence Development & Marketing
•    On-Stage Live Performance Coaching workshops

SKATE:        Mr. Smalls SkatePark’s fifth annual REAL.LIFE.SKATE CAMP will once again be held at the newly re-designed facility.  Our program is modeled after that of Woodward Camp, the premier extreme sports camp in the country, which was developed and directed for 10 years by Mr. Smalls’ President and Owner, Mike Speranzo. This one-week intensive for Skate, In-Line & Freestyle Bikers will be instructed by our staff and visiting pros. After the daily group instruction sessions focusing on skills, balance, and style, the instructors and pros will work one-on-one with the campers.  There will be Pro Demos and amateur events for every skill level and prizes provided by many sponsors and skate companies.
Past Pro instructors have included: Matt Lindemuth, Chris Edwards, John Rokos, Mike Bennett, Dave Metty & more. Check www.creativelifesupport.com  for updates on this year’s confirmed pros and staff.  Skate Campers will also enjoy significant participation in the REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR, which will be happening that same week, including concerts and specialty music workshops.

REAL.LIFE.MUSIC SEMINAR & REAL.LIFE.SKATE CAMP will culminate with the REAL.LIFE.JAM & AWARDS CEREMONY on Friday, August 10th at Mr. Smalls Theatre, featuring the talents of all camp artists and bands as well as presenting  & visiting artists. The show will be open to the public.  All are invited to attend.
