This was well teased. I actually couldn't wait
for it to come on. It was well done too. Of
course, I am fascinated by certain characters
covered in this piece and, others, not as much.
Moreover, Julia Allison truly helps make any
piece "pop."
Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis
Joplin, Chris Farley, Jerry Garcia = I find
these cases to be fascinating subjects and, in
general, have been inspired and bewitched by
them for many years because of their true
magical genius and also the magical grassroots
pathways which led them through the doors of
fame - which cannot be said for the likes of
Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie. Nevertheless,
I am still interested in their cases but its
just an interest rather than an intriguing
passion that could be linked to the words and
pages of deep insight provided in such literary
illumination like in Angels and Clowns.
One afternoon in a bar room I had the
opportunity to hang with Robby Krieger of the
Doors back in like 93 and I reserved a couple
of questions about Jim Morrison to slip into the
good conversation we were carrying. One of them
was about Jims excessive use of drugs I asked
if he really did all those drugs or if that was
part of a propagated myth and Roby replied
that Jim did allot of drugs that they all did
allot of drugs and they did allot of acid
and when Jim was on acid he was cool with
everyone that it was like a communal thing and
consciousness. However, Jim loved to drink. And
when Jim drank he became an instant asshole. And
Jim loved to drink. The other question I asked
was about all the women ;)
Jim casts such a big shadow in the valley of
rock stardom; thank God I found his poetry in a
space of abundant light.
Drugs and Stars: Showbiz Tonight Special Report
= Great piece = A+++
And, by the way, Brooke is doing a spectacular
job holding down the fort as a solo host.
