Thanks everyone who has supported my efforts and/or indulged me
during the process of writing Everyday Media and my latest e-book "Things
We're Afraid to Say: Webs of Everyday Media" on
MyStrawHat.com.
As with Everyday Media, "Things We're Afraid to Say: Webs of
Everyday Media" is comprised of email write-ins to major NEWS
programs and also poetry, lyrics and short stories - however, I have
separated the write-ins from the poetry and have them placed in two
separate sections.
I really have had allot of fun with these two books and have
accomplished some of my best work yet.
The observations of "every day media" I watch practically "everyday"
have definitely inspired my language, tone and topics in my poetry.
One of the goals for my poetry was for me to try and take "everyday"
and romanticize it into some form of poetic art - similar to how
Andy Warhol took "everyday" mundane subjects and material and
created "pop art" ---
Moreover, I attribute the process of writing these two e-books with
a certain growth which stems from allot of hard work in all I do -
but also with establishing a certain rapport with certain anchors,
hosts and personalities from certain major NEWS programs which have
allowed me to express myself in a certain unique, honest fashion
which is part fun and part seriousness, henceforth, realizing a
particular voice that has been enlightened yet not taking itself too
serious.
Many thanks to those of you who transmit what we know as a specific
elevated radiance - as to be thankful and grateful for the ability
to broadcast a version of "everyday" life that reaches millions -
and, millions rely on for accurate information and credible
perception.
And, many thanks to those who exemplify truth and beauty by exuding
beauty from every fiber of your being and radiating light, love and
joy in an organic aesthetic manner and possessing a delivery that is
chipper, uplifting and not like an authoritative, pompous ass but,
yet, more like a friend I would enjoy sitting around with and
conversing about "everyday" life - (news worthy or not) - with an
espresso, Manhattan, martini, beer or glass of wine in hand.
Thanks again and I hope you enjoy my poetry and
write-ins............
Best of the Roses,
