Hi Janyce:
Thank you for coming into Starbucks yesterday and for the
conversation, offer to collaborate w/ you on the Documentary on
Pittsburgh Blues Artists representing the film making side and
for taking the time to read my poetry and, overall, the general
enthusiasm you seem to possess when speaking w/ me.
After it sunk in to my sky-blue-sky thoughts yesterday, I am
very interested in collaborating w/ you on this project and I
have experience and can turn around and use that experiences and
those resources from this current documentary to work on the
Pittsburgh Blues Artists w/ you.
The Hollywood Emmy Winning Guy, Evan Edelist, can help as a
consultant to put the financial picture together for the grant
money and also help keep us on budget and w/ his track record in
post=production he can certainly oversee that and he also has
experience in production to as we are doing this documentary
together.
We can use the Mr. Small's studio (owned by co-founder of Rusted
Root, Liz Berlin, and her musician, professional amateur
skateboarder husband, Mike Speranzo, who are also partners w/
Evan and me for the documentary and is based off the success of
Rusted Root and how they took that to build the Mr. Small's
complex and Creative-Life-Support to help feed the Pittsburgh
community and provide avenues to the bigger national scene as
they have had MTV do shows there and have been written-up in
Esquire Mag, Women's Day Journal, Relix Mag, etc..) - yeah, we
can use the Mr. Small's team of interns working w/ us to shoot
in HD and do our interviews there, our voice overs, editing and
sound = we have it all there already rolling and will be less
expensive than going anywhere else = plus it's our team.
Our documentary is called Creative Life Support and I like to
add: The Organic Harvest of Rusted Root.
I mentioned the my dear deceased friend, Tonya Browne, and her
band Queen Bee & the Blue Hornet band oft played the Pittsburgh
Blues Fest, opened for B.B. King and Buddy Guy and were locked
into deal w/ Moon Dogs as the only venue they'd play in
Pittsburgh - well, here is a link to a couple good articles and
some pics.
Moreover, since Liz Berlin is a nationally well known musician
from Pittsburgh and still resides here and is a well known
figure for giving back to the community she'd be perfect for
doing interviews and possibly narrating or co-narrating.
Let's talk soon.
Hollywood-Emmy-Guy will be in town Aug 23, 24, 25, 26, (If
that's the Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon) and wants to meet you.
And, of course, I'll get you Jeff Tott's number and the contact
info for the Hollywood-Agent-Guy who turns scripts into movies.
Best of the Roses,
John French mystrawhat.com
