Only Larry King...

I've said this before and it truly deserves to be repeated in the same context of amazement and respect.

As a young, moderate republican I have not been a big fan of Dick Cheney and have blamed him and Rummy for many mistakes and unpopular numbers. And, well, they have had a past track record of arrogance, no accountability and mud-slinging w/ catapults.

After all, I liked Bill Clinton and still do. I mean, I am a big enough person to give credit where credit is due and Bill Clinton deserves it. Therefore, Dick Cheney was more like a dinosaur figure in the current American landscape rather than a leader, no less a VP.

Hitherto, I could care less about him. However, last night on Larry King, I found myself listening, having hope for and even liking Dick Cheney. I couldn’t believe it. He almost appeared to be a new man = a new, more dynamic, resourceful, thoughtful, well rounded, accountable, humble, modest, and powerful man (as all those things translate into a real power for me and not the kind of power one oft uses to achieve means to ends).

Of course, I am sure there was intent behind this Larry King interview - nevertheless; VP Cheney seemed to be sincere. And, only Larry King could provide such a platform.

Again, this was a wise decision of VP Cheney's part as Larry King is a masterful interviewer. And knowing this, also gave the program and the interview and VP Cheney's words credibility for me. For VP Cheney seemed to possess a genuine respect for Larry King and the process as in which he should.

P.S. Larry, I wish I would've though of this earlier when you had Paul and Ringo on so you could ask = who the hell has the rights to the Beatles' cartoons and why the hell are they not being broadcasted?! They helped me develop into a fine young man and I think they can help do they same for younger generations and serve as a reminder to older generations as well. Not broadcasting these seem like an idiotic business move to me and a dis-service to humanity.
