The oddest thing happened tonight. I had the best New Years of my life. Which just goes to show … having expectations for the way things are “supposed” to be is incredibly overrated.
The entire evening was perfect - the six girls ate dinner at Soho House, then celebrated there the rest of the evening (I had *three* glasses of champagne!!)  I wouldn’t have changed a damn thing. And as we all yelled the countdown together, I looked into the eyes of my girls and thought, “This is as good as it gets.”
I can’t believe I thought new years would be shitty - just because I wasn’t kissing the guy I thought I would be. Life is so surprising sometimes.
I know 2008 will be extraordinary.

Julia Allison is as captivating as they come.

She is highly intelligent, self-propagating, motivated, charming, articulate and dynamic. Julia is everywhere. And I love it. She has me watching for her on multiple programs on CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, the Early Show on CBS and NBC’s the Today Show.

Hitherto, I never ever purchased Star Magazine or any other magazine like it, however, as Julia Allison is News & Style editor-at-large for Star, I feel compelled to see what work she’s doing there. In fact, again, until now, the closest thing to a blog I frequented was the Wilco bulletin board on wilcoworld.com (which was in-between the time of the albums Being There and Summer Teeth and ended shortly after the band’s heightened fame signaled by pictures in Rolling Stone of Wilco’s star, Jeff Tweedy, sandwiched between Michael Stipe and Courtney Love) and now I enjoyably frequent the delicious blog of Julia Allison on juliaallison.com.

Julia is everywhere and she’s at it everyday and I love knowing that a girl like her is doing her thing in as many facets of the media as she can manage. I find Julia Allison to be one of the most engaging and beautiful women of everyday media.  Her beauty is reflective of her personality so I can truly say that she is beautiful both inside and out.

A few rare women just naturally translate from being on camera to being transmitted across the global connection of satellites and broadcasted into our homes and on our TV screen so well that their personality is manifested in such an organic way that you actually feel they are with you in your living room, bedroom, hotel room, country club or bar.

Hence, this is how I can best describe the dynamics of Julia Allison on TV.

In fact, even without her charmingly witty, articulate, rich delivery - in just the visual image alone, what a complex composition .... She is strikingly delicious to look at and absolutely engagingly entertaining in every way. She is always radiantly brilliant on the air and, actually, that goes for whatever program I catch her on whether it be "live" or not.

Julia Allison is made for what she is doing and, I believe, quite more too.

Well, for sure, I can think of a few things she can do for me ........        ;)

One of my favorite pictures of her many many pictures of herself is one before she was ready for sleep self-taken with her computer in bed with her dog Lilly. It’s titled “Goodnight” and for me is a great example of how a simple picture and subject can, on the contrary, be such a complex composition with the honesty of its subject invoking such intense feelings within the viewer.

In similar fashion the majority of her writings are so refreshingly honest and simple that they become complex because of the depth she is willing to explore and reveal while expressing herself – how she really thinks, what others think of her, things she has done, things she does and, although she may not have the answers, questions she poses to herself. She is who she is and is a great example of Descartes’ famous saying, “I think therefore I am.” She thinks and therefore she is. She is (even without the need or liking for alcohol or drugs) uninhibited glory – walking down the streets of Manhattan of our digital world documenting “this is what I did today” pieces for her blog so we can hear her voice, her thoughts, her actions within everyday life.

Such is Julia Allison = #1 of the Top 50 Hottest Women of Everyday Media 2008 = a unique spot for a unique woman.
